Interoperability on Bitcoin: Mo Harchegani at Tuscany Lightning Summit 2026
At the Tuscany Lightning Summit 2026 in Viareggio, Italy, Mo Harchegani, developer at KaleidoSwap, talked about sovereign trading on RGB Protocol on Bitcoin, interoperability between Bitcoin layers, and the latest KaleidoSwap products.

In Brief
- Sovereign trading: for Mo, the biggest use case of a DEX is the sense of ownership it gives to users
- Interoperability first: RGB on Lightning opens an easier path to atomic swaps between Bitcoin layers, with no lock-in to a single ecosystem
- One interface: the KaleidoSwap browser extension connects to an RGB node and brings Arkade and Spark into a single wallet
- RGB on Liquid: in Mo’s example, USDT issued on Liquid could reach Bitcoin through RGB
Sovereign Trading and the Interoperability Problem
Mo opened with the recent path of KaleidoSwap: many hackathons, a win at CypherTank, and a few pivots in development, mainly toward the integration of multiple protocols and interoperability among them. For him, the biggest use case of a decentralized exchange is the sense of ownership it gives to users, with trading free from intermediaries. In his view, the main hurdle across Bitcoin layer 2 protocols is interoperability, and RGB on the Lightning Network gives atomic swaps between protocols a much simpler route. Without interoperability, Mo argued, new layers risk remaining clever technologies from very bright minds, and he named Liquid as an example of high potential held back by lock-in, with users confined to a new ecosystem inside Bitcoin. Interoperability, he concluded, is the path all of these protocols must follow in order to be usable.
A Browser Extension and RGB on Liquid
On the product side, Mo presented the new KaleidoSwap browser extension, which talks to the user’s RGB node and brings different protocols, such as Arkade and Spark, into one single interface. The team was also working on RGB on top of Liquid, so that assets issued on Liquid could work with other networks: in his example, USDT issued on Liquid could move onto Bitcoin through RGB. Since then, KaleidoSwap has published the results of its RGB on Liquid proof of concept, with an asset issuance and an atomic swap between Bitcoin and Liquid on regtest.
