RGB v0.11.1 Is Live on Bitcoin Mainnet

RGB Protocol on Bitcoin has reached a landmark milestone: RGB v0.11.1 is officially live on Bitcoin mainnet. Several members of the RGB Protocol Association have simultaneously shipped their products, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Bitcoin-native digital assets.

Ecosystem Products Now Live

Four RGB-powered applications launched on mainnet alongside the v0.11.1 release:

LNFI Network — A multi-asset financial layer for Lightning. Issue, trade, and manage RGB tokens with real-time liquidity and institutional-grade tools.

Bitcoin Tribe — A mobile app for issuing, sending, and swapping RGB assets, with full self-custody and a clean user interface.

ThunderLink — A REST API for RGB asset transfers, offering plug-and-play RGB support for businesses and applications. *(ThunderStack has since rebranded as Utexo.)*

Iris Wallet — A privacy-focused wallet for managing Bitcoin and RGB tokens locally, with rich media support.

Bitmask by DIBA — a non-custodial RGB wallet and marketplace for art, collectibles, and on-chain Bitcoin Finance. *(now live on mainnet)*

Bitcoin-Native by Design

RGB Protocol on Bitcoin enables anyone to create, send, and manage digital assets, like stablecoins, NFTs, community tokens, directly on Bitcoin and the Lightning Network, without leaving the Bitcoin ecosystem.

The protocol is built around three non-negotiables:

  • No trusted third parties
  • No federations
  • No validators or coordinators

All assets are anchored to Bitcoin UTXOs and validated off-chain through client-side validation, delivering privacy and scalability without compromising on trustlessness.

What Builders and Users Can Do Now

With RGB v0.11.1 live, the protocol unlocks:

  • Token and digital asset issuance on Bitcoin
  • Private, secure transfers on-chain and via Lightning
  • Programmable contracts without third-party dependencies
  • Fast, low-fee Lightning payments for RGB assets
  • Full self-custody within the Bitcoin ecosystem

The RGB Protocol Association

On July 14, 2025, the RGB Protocol Association was officially founded to coordinate and support the global development of RGB Protocol on Bitcoin. Founding members include Bitfinex, Fulgur Ventures, Plan B Network, Boosty Labs, Kaleidoswap, ThunderStack (now Utexo), Bitcoin Tribe, and LNFI.
The Association provides grants, community engagement, education, and advocacy to accelerate adoption and ecosystem growth.

Voices from the Ecosystem

Viktor Ihnatiuk, Boosty Labs & RGB Protocol Association:

“I first heard about RGB in 2017. Since 2021 we’ve been building toward this moment. With programmability, privacy, and Lightning scalability – Bitcoin now has everything needed for real applications.”

Gideon Nweze, Bitmask (DIBA):

“With RGB live, programmable assets on Bitcoin are now a reality. Bitmask supports RGB20 – and this is just the beginning.”

Anant Tapadia, Bitcoin Tribe:

RGB changes how people use Bitcoin. With Tribe and Holepunch, we’re not just building a wallet, but a peer-to-peer community layer. This is the future.”

Darius, LNFI:

“RGB is powerful, but Lightning makes it practical. LNFI enables scalable DeFi for RGB on Lightning – and the future starts today.”
