KaleidoSwap Raises Pre-Seed to Build the First RGB Protocol on Bitcoin DEX on Lightning

KaleidoSwap is the first decentralized exchange being built on RGB Protocol on Bitcoin’s Lightning Network. The September 2025 pre-seed round marked a concrete validation: institutional capital is now backing Bitcoin-native DeFi infrastructure built on RGB.

What makes KaleidoSwap significant is the architecture. The exchange is designed to work entirely within the Bitcoin protocol stack, without bridges, sidechains, or wrapped tokens. Atomic swaps and liquidity pools run on RGB assets over Lightning, relying on RGB Protocol on Bitcoin’s client-side validation model. Trade history and asset provenance remain private and verifiable off-chain.

For the RGB Protocol on Bitcoin ecosystem, this investment signals that v0.11.1, the production-ready implementation that went live on Bitcoin mainnet in July 2025, is mature enough to attract dedicated development teams and serious backing. KaleidoSwap is building on rgb-lib and the RGB Lightning Node, the open-source libraries maintained by the RGB-protocol developers.

The round reflects a growing conviction among Lightning-focused investors that RGB is the credible path to Bitcoin-native asset exchange, without compromising Bitcoin’s properties.
