What Was Announced
Utexo’s official X account announced UniSat as the next wallet joining the rollout of USDT on Bitcoin, describing UniSat as “the home for Bitcoin assets” with more than 1 million weekly active users and over 100 million weekly API calls. The post names three features coming to UniSat Wallet: send, receive and swap USDT on Bitcoin.
As of this writing, neither Utexo’s nor UniSat’s own documentation reference the integration yet. Further technical detail will likely follow closer to release, as it did for Utexo’s other WDK modules.
Why UniSat Matters for RGB’s Reach
UniSat’s user base today runs on Ordinals, Runes and BRC-20 — asset standards that live directly on the Bitcoin blockchain, fully on-chain. RGB Protocol on Bitcoin takes a different path: client-side validation keeps the actual asset data off-chain, so only a compact commitment reaches Bitcoin, and only the parties involved in a transfer see the real state.
Bringing UniSat’s existing install base into that model, rather than reaching only wallets built RGB-native from the start, like Iris Wallet, Tribe or KaleidoSwap, would put USDT on Bitcoin, RGB-based, in front of an audience that has never used RGB before.
Where This Fits
The announcement follows a string of concrete steps toward USDT on Bitcoin built by Utexo, including a Lightning module shipped inside Tether’s Wallet Development Kit in August 2026. Naming UniSat as the next launch partner is the clearest signal yet of which wallet reaches production users first.
